Questions to Answer Before Hiring a Social Media and Marketing Team

Happy November, folks! As we head into the last few months of quarter four we thought we’d take a moment to highlight business readiness. So, what is it exactly?

Our team doesn’t work with any client that inquires with us. There is a reason for it! We want to make sure that your business is getting the most out of your investment, and if we don’t think you’re ready to hire on a marketing team - we’ll tell you! Not only that, but we’ll give you some guidance on how to get there. So - if you’re thinking of hiring a marketing team to outsource your social media and/or marketing strategy we’d encourage you to ask these questions first!

1) Is my product and/or service ready to be brought to a client-base?

This is one of the first questions we’ll help you to identify - sometimes your business is in its launch phase, and that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be marketing it. Instead, we want to ensure that if there is a timeline for when it’ll be ready for consumption that our marketing strategy aligns with the release date. Marketing strategies for release of a product or service can generate a lot of hype online (and that's what we want!) lets ensure we can provide your clients with a timeline so they know exactly when they will get access to what they want!

2) What is my business missing that social media can fix?

If you have an onboarding call with us, chances are you’ll hear our team ask you “what are your goals?” In a world where social media is everywhere it can sometimes feel like you should be doing it, just because you should be doing it. We want to help you set goals for your marketing strategy that are measurable. That could be as simple as increasing views, increasing comments and/or engagement, maybe a goal of 2-5 new clients every month. Whatever it is, think about what exactly you want us to bring to the table.

3) How do I measure a successful social media presence?

Yes, we’re your social media team. But we are also your social media coaching team. Let’s make sure that what success looks like is plausible and possible. For example, if you were to hire a marketing team but only have enough budget for a 3 month package, chances are you won’t see your account go viral in that short period of time. While we can’t guarantee viral content, we can help to create a path forward that increases your chances of that happening!

4) When considering outsourcing for social media management and/or marketing, what could I use that additional time for in my business?

Did you know hiring a social media team can save you money? What if working with a team long term eventually brings you 10+ new clients a month? What about 100+? 1000+? With the extra time you have by outsourcing and the additional client intake, perhaps you’ll have more time to grow your business in other areas. And we love that for you!
